Jujutsu Shenanigans Beginner Guide
Everything a first-time sorcerer needs to know — from character pick to your first Domain Expansion.
⛩️Welcome to Jujutsu Shenanigans
Jujutsu Shenanigans is a Roblox anime fighting game based on Jujutsu Kaisen. Pick a sorcerer, learn their moveset, master combos, and battle other players in 1v1 or team matches.
Every character has a base kit plus an Awakening that unlocks a signature ultimate move. Mastering both layers is what separates new players from veterans.
The game uses a currency-and-roll system — earn coins from matches to unlock new characters, or use Robux to speed up unlocks.
Cross-play is enabled — match against PC, Mobile, and Xbox players from one lobby.
⏱️Your First 5 Minutes
Step 1 — Pick Honored One (Gojo) or Restless Gambler (Hakari) as your first character. Both are S-tier and forgiving for new players.
Step 2 — Run the in-game tutorial. It teaches M1 combos, blocking, and dodges — the three core mechanics.
Step 3 — Jump into PvP matches immediately. Combos only become muscle memory through real fights.
Step 4 — Save your early coins. Don't roll for new characters yet — master your starter first.
Step 5 — Watch the kill feed. Pay attention to what moves the highest-skill players use — those are the meta picks.
⚔️Core Combat Mechanics
M1 (Light Attack) — basic combo string. Most characters have 4-5 hits in their M1 chain. Always end with a knockdown move to start your pressure.
M2 (Heavy Attack) — launches opponents. Use this to extend combos in the air or to catch players blocking low.
Block — neutral guard. Hold to reduce incoming damage by ~70%. Some moves (grabs, unblockables) bypass block entirely.
Dash — short invincibility frames on startup. Use to escape pressure or to close distance on a zoning opponent.
Awakening — every character has an Awakening bar that fills through combat. Once full, activate for a signature ultimate move that turns the match.
Combo Extender — when an opponent is launched, you get extra air combos. The best players chain 8-12 hits off a single opener.
🎯Best Starter Characters
Honored One (S-Tier) — Gojo's kit is the most beginner-friendly. Hollow Purple is a one-shot kill on a confirmed combo. Best pick for new players.
Restless Gambler (S-Tier) — Hakari's Jackpot provides infinite regen when active. Out-sustains most meta picks. Easy M1 chain.
Disaster Plants (S+ Tier) — Hanami's range is unmatched. Cosmic Shuriken controls space better than any other character. Forgiving for players still learning neutral.
Salaryman (B-Tier) — Nanami's 7:3 ratio is the safest poke in the game. Good 'training wheels' character before you graduate to S-tier.
Avoid Vessel early — Sukuna Switch has the highest skill ceiling in the game. Save for when you understand matchups.
✨Your First Awakening
Awakening bars fill through dealing and receiving damage. Most matches see 1-2 Awakenings per round depending on pace.
Use your Awakening as a finisher — confirm a combo into Awakening for a guaranteed kill.
Save Awakening when you're losing — the comeback potential is huge if your opponent is at 30% HP.
Honored One's Awakening (Unlimited Void) freezes the opponent briefly. Combo into it for a guaranteed Hollow Purple follow-up.
Restless Gambler's Awakening (Jackpot) provides 7 seconds of infinite regen. Use to out-trade any opponent.
Disaster Plants' Awakening (Disaster Tongue) is a ranged zoning tool. Best used to catch opponents trying to escape your combo.
🎮Winning the Neutral Game
Neutral = the moment-to-moment game of approaching your opponent without getting hit. Most beginners lose here, not in combos.
Zoners (Blood Manipulator, True Cannon) win neutral by controlling space. To beat them, dash through their projectiles and punish the recovery.
Rushdown (Head of Hei, Restless Gambler) win neutral by closing distance fast. To beat them, block and punish their M1 chains on whiff.
Summoners (Ten Shadows, Puppet Master) win neutral through persistent pressure. To beat them, focus the summoner not the summons.
The single biggest neutral mistake new players make: mashing M1 from full screen. Always wait for an opening or force one with a long-range move.
🥋How to Practice Combos
Use the in-game Training mode. It lets you set the dummy's behavior and test combos without matchmaking pressure.
Start with the basic M1 chain. Most characters have a 4-hit M1 that ends in a knockdown. Master that first.
Add M2 confirms. After M1-M1-M1, press M2 — most characters can chain into a launcher.
Practice combo extenders. After M2 launches, M1 again in the air. Chain until the opponent hits the ground.
End every combo with a move that knocks the opponent far. This gives you breathing room to reset neutral — never end with a weak move.
Spend 10 minutes in Training mode every time you pick up a new character. The combos only become reliable with muscle memory.
⚠️5 Common Beginner Mistakes
Mistake 1 — Using Awakening at the wrong time. Don't pop Awakening when you're at 80% HP and the opponent is at 20%. Save it as a finisher or a comeback tool.
Mistake 2 — Mashing M1 without reading. Every M1 has recovery frames. Smart opponents block the third M1 and punish your whiff.
Mistake 3 — Never blocking. Defense wins games. Block, dash, and punish — don't just hold forward.
Mistake 4 — Ignoring Awakenings. The strongest characters become broken with Awakening active. Don't play like Awakenings don't exist.
Mistake 5 — Playing too many characters. Pick one S-tier and main it for a week before you roll. Spreading across 5 characters means you master none.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best character in Jujutsu Shenanigans?
Ten Shadows is the strongest character in v1.77 with Mahoraga awakening. For beginners, Honored One (Gojo) is the best pick — easy kit, high burst, and forgiving execution. S+ tier (Ten Shadows, Blood Manipulator, Disaster Plants, Puppet Master) are the meta picks for skilled players.
How do I unlock characters in Jujutsu Shenanigans?
Earn coins from PvP matches and use them to roll for new characters. Robux speeds up the process but is not required. New players should save coins and roll during x2 or x3 rate-up events to maximize value.
Do I need Robux to play Jujutsu Shenanigans?
No. Honored One and Restless Gambler are both S-tier characters that can be unlocked with coins. The F2P path gives you access to roughly 80% of the meta. Robux only matters if you want to unlock every character immediately.
When should I use my Awakening?
Use Awakening as a finisher (confirm combo into Awakening for guaranteed kill) or as a comeback tool (when you're at 30% HP and the opponent is at 60%+). Never pop Awakening at full HP against a low-HP opponent — save it for value.
Is Jujutsu Shenanigans cross-platform?
Yes — PC, Mobile, and Xbox players all match against each other. Cross-play is enabled by default and can be filtered in lobby settings if you want platform-specific matchmaking.
