What is Groundwork Simulator?

It is a simulation about opening a gold site with heavy equipment. Steam's short description is the scope of this wiki: dig, haul, and wash for gold in an open-world machinery sim; operate excavators, wheel loaders, and bulldozers; reshape terrain; build a washing setup; work alone or with other people online.

XYZ STUDIO is both developer and publisher. The store lists the genre as Simulation and the release state as Early Access. The official site sums the same job up as moving earth and recovering gold, solo or with up to three friends.

This is not a Roblox game. No universe ID or place ID is printed here, and there is no Roblox play embed. Player counts from Roblox are not shown, because this site does not have a Roblox listing to snapshot.

Platforms & system requirements (Steam Β· Windows/Mac)

Steam lists Windows and macOS. Linux is not a supported platform on the store page read for this wiki. The numbers below are copied from that page's minimum and recommended lines on 27 October 2026. If the developer edits them, the store page wins.

Steam also notes that the soil and water simulation loads the CPU hard, so the game can be demanding even when the picture looks lighter than the spec sheet.

Core loop β€” dig, haul, wash, reshape terrain

The official site and the Steam feature text describe the same cycle. Nothing here adds a gold-per-hour rate.

  1. Find a deposit. Drill and test the ground, then pick a spot.
  2. Dig. Cut into the hillside. Every scoop changes the ground you will drive on next.
  3. Haul the material to the wash setup. The official site also describes loading machines onto a trailer and moving them by truck between worksites.
  4. Wash. Bring water in with pumps and hoses, run material through sluice boxes, then process concentrate on a shaking table.
  5. Reshape as you go. Trenches, piles, and slopes are the road for the next load, not a separate minigame.

The first-hour version of this loop is the beginner guide.

Machines overview (excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers)

Those three types are the ones Steam names in the short description. This wiki does not rank models, list prices, or invent bucket capacities.

  • Excavators. The official site starts the job by taking an excavator to untouched ground. The store describes bucket angle and hydraulic power as the bucket fills and lifts.
  • Wheel loaders. Named by Steam next to the excavators and bulldozers. No capacity figure is repeated here.
  • Bulldozers. Named in the same sentence as reshaping terrain. Use them to change the ground you have to drive.
  • Trucks and trailers. The official site describes hauling the machines themselves to the next worksite. That is transport, not a fourth digger with a stat line.

Solo vs online co-op

Steam lists Single-player and Online Co-op. You can run the site alone. The official site says you can also bring up to three friends, and it calls that 4-player co-op.

The split the store describes is one person on the excavator while a friend handles transport, or both of you keeping material moving between the dig and the wash plant. Invite someone when those jobs need to happen at once. The beginner guide stops at that handoff and does not invent a larger lobby.

Early Access status & update cadence

The game launched in Early Access on 22 October 2026. Steam says Early Access games are not finished and may change. The developer answers on the store page, read 27 October 2026, are the status this wiki will repeat:

  • Early Access is how they want the community involved before full release. They say the foundation is in place and that they plan more maps and vehicles.
  • They expect about 3–6 months in Early Access, and they say that window can move. Progress is supposed to be posted during Early Access.
  • Full-release plans they list: another map, more vehicles, weather, work on current systems, usability, mod support, and performance. They say the plan can change.
  • Current build, in their words on that page: most features planned for the full release, one playable map, a range of vehicles and heavy machinery, and a story mode that teaches the core mechanics in a guided tutorial.
  • They say the base price is not planned to change when Early Access ends. The price on the day you look, including any discount, stays on the store page. It is not copied here.
  • Feedback channels they name: Steam Community discussions and the official Discord. This wiki does not invent a Discord invite.

Shipped changes belong on Steam news and on the official site. This page does not write patch notes.

The official roadmap is a list of plans, and the site says dates are to be announced. Headings there include a new map, more story objectives, more vehicles, wash plants and equipment, feedback passes, modding support, a Map Studio, and the full release. A heading is not proof the feature is already in the game.
